When you decide to put in a paver of any kind there are many choices of materials. With the different materials comes different pricing, as well as a host of other strengths and weaknesses. Each material has it's set of designed uses, advantages and disadvantages. As well as a number of pavers, there are also a few other materials that are needed when you construct a paver project. These will also vary depending on the paver that you choose. You may decided to use a soft base for your paving project. You may also decide to lay the pavers in concrete. For this site I will stick to a soft base, as to concrete. The materials that you will need besides the pavers are:

Base material: 1/2" to 3/4" Gravel with particle size down to fine dust.

Sand: A coarse concrete sand or other appropriate bedding material

Beauty Sand, this is used to fill in the cracks between the pavers. They give a nice finish and help keeps weeds out.

Pave Edge. (Lost click hear for explanation of Pave Edge) This is a hard plastic edge that will be used to keep the pavers together. With pave edge there is also a need for steel spikes (10", 3/8"diameter)

These materials may be purchased at a local landscape company, Lowe's, Home Depot, or Online
