When you have your information as to location of the paver, surroundings, and usage it is dime to design your paver. You might want to consult a landscape professional for this, just for the purpose of getting a professionals viewpoint. Most landscape operations are willing to come out and look over a site and give a few suggestions and possibly do a drawing for you. Some places do this in hopes of gaining you as a customer. I am not telling you to take advantage of the landscape company. If you do do this it might be nice to purchase the pavers and or plant material from the company that you talk to.
However, if you don't need help it is a good idea to draw out the plan that you have in your head to make sure that everything fits correctly. Make a drawing and have it set to scale so you have all of your measurement then you can begin construction
